BRPD: One dead, another sent to hospital after shooting on 13th Street

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: The victim of this shooting died on his birthday. He has been identified as Carlois LeBouf, 28, of Baton Rouge. Police believe the shooting stemmed from a shooting that happened less than 24-hours prior on Convention Street.
The second suspect is a 53 year old male. He is still recovering in the hospital but is expected to survive.
The shooting is still under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY: One person is dead and a second was take to a local hospital after a shooting incident.
The Baton Rouge Police Department confirms that the shooting happened around the 100 block of 13th Street. The incident was reported at around 9:30 p.m. One person was pronounced dead on the scene. The other was taken to a local hospital, but the extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

According to the Coroner’s Office, this is the 79th homicide in East Baton Rouge Parish for this year. On this same day last year there were a total of 60 homicides.
