BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — An East Baton Rouge Police Officer accused of forging misdemeanor summons is facing more charges this evening.

Derek Burns was once again booked in to the EBR Parish Prison, this time for forgery injuring public records and malfeasance in office.

The case is still under investigation and Burns remains on administrative leave.

When NBC33 spoke with Chief Dewayne White after Burns' first arrest, he told us there could be more charges to come.
