UPDATE: BRPD arrests 2 suspects involved in fatal hit and run

BATON ROUGE (NBC33) — UPDATE: Carl McKnight, 21, and Eric Abrams, 29, both of Baton Rouge, have been arrested in connection with the death of Troy Jacobson.
Abrams, the owner of the vehicle, took the vehicle to a local body shop this morning for repairs, after attempting to make a claim through his insurance company.
Employee’s of the body shop recognized the vehicle by its description, and contacted authorities.
McKnight, the driver of the vehicle, has been charged with Felony Hit and Run, Reckless Operation, Driver’s License Required, Insurance Fraud, and Obstruction of Justice.
Abrams has been charged with Felony Hit and Run (Accessory after the Fact), Obstruction of Justice, and Insurance Fraud.
Both will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
ORIGINAL: A 45-year-old man was killed last night after being hit by a car at the I-10 College Drive Exit ramp around 10:14 p.m. Sunday night.
Investigators say Troy Jacobson might have been hit by a small blue car, possibly a Honda Civic, while crossing the street.
Police that after hitting Jacobson, the vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction on College Drive.
Police are still looking for the suspect and say the car should have some damage to the front end of the car.
This fatal crash is still under investigation.
