BRPD: Girlfriend arrested for stabbing boyfriend

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Baton Rouge Police arrested Latoya Paul, 28, for attempted murder charges. They say she stabbed her boyfriend multiple times in the abdomen after they got into a fight.
Police say it happened around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 4 in the 5200 block of Underwood Avenue.
According to a report the victim, her 32-year-old boyfriend came home after being out all night and found Paul throwing his personal belongings out of the house. An argument ensued and Paul pushed the victim.
Paul told investigators she took out a knife and stabbed him because she thought he was going to punch her. The victim was stabbed several times and had what police describe as life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Paul was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Domestic Abuse Battery. Her bond was set at $85,000.
