Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Baton Rouge Police have arrested an 11 year veteran of the Baton Rouge Police Department.

49-year-old Corporal Mitchell Duncan is accused of breaking into a woman's home then assaulting her. BRPD Officials tell NBC33 News, Duncan was actually in uniform and on duty at the time he's accused of using a knife to break into the woman's home.

Late Thursday night, Duncan was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on two counts of Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, two counts of Simple Battery, and one count of Malfeasance in Office. We're told Duncan resigned his position shortly after he was arrested Thursday night.
