A man is now in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and police are looking for his accomplices, after they went on an almost four-hour crime spree, on July 27.

Police spokesperson Ljean Mckeenly, said Andre Young, 19, robbed several people in North Baton Rouge, raped two women, and shot a man, before being arrested around 8 a.m.

Young and his accomplish robbed two groups of people at gunpoint near McClelland Drive and Greenwell Street, around 4:30 a.m.

Investigators say Young then forced two female victims into their car “drove them to a BREC Park on Evangeline and raped them.”

Next, Young robbed one man on Ontario Street and shot another.

Officers spotted Young in the stolen car and chased him to Shelly Street, where they finally found Young hiding underneath a house.

Police believe Young and his accomplices are responsible for other crimes in Baton Rouge and the surrounding area.

Young was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with four counts Armed Robbery, Attempt 1st Degree Murder, two counts of 2nd Degree Kidnapping, and two counts of Aggravated Rape.

His bail has been set at $1.17 million.
