Baton ROuge — A Baton Rouge pastor was arrested Saturday for allegedly raping a twenty-year-old woman who's been medically determined to have the mental capacity of a 7-year-old.
David Lemley, 43, of New Harmony Baptist Church, was booked on one count of aggravated rape.
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, the woman’s farther was the one who suggested that Lemley and the victim have sex.
According to police reports, the victim’s father admitted that he also had sex with his daughter, and he has been charged accordingly.
The victim told police that she and her father had been staying at Lemley’s home for some time, and that Lemley had sex with her on several occasions.
Lemley initially denied the accusations and agreed to a polygraph test. However, he failed to show up for the test on the scheduled date in December 2013. Deputies made several attempts to contact Lemley, but were unable to reach him. A warrant was then issued for Lemley's arrest.
Police located and arrested Lemley on Saturday, March 1. His bond was set at $75,000.
The investigation is ongoing. We will update this story as it progresses.
