Body of missing teen found in shallow grave; two arrested

GARYVILLE, LA (NBC33) — The body of a 17-year-old boy who has been missing since March was found by the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office. Two teens have been arrested in connection with his death.
Mikivon Anderson was last seen on March 24, 2013 in his hometown of Garyville. His body was discovered by investigations on Wednesday, July 31 in a shallow grave located in the Mt. Airy-Garyville area.
Investigators have arrested Brandon Braxton, 18, and Nathis Burl, 18, in connection to Anderson’s murder.
Braxton is charged with Second-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Second-Degree Murder, and Obstruction of Justice by Tampering with Evidence. His bond was set at $1.6 million.
Burl is facing the same charges, with an additional Contempt of Court charge for an unrelated case. His bond was set at $1,600,150.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
