The mother of a missing 6-year-old child has confirmed to media outlets that her child’s body was recovered and an autopsy has been scheduled. Officials, however, say they will not comment on the investigation until a press conference, which has been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.

Ahlittia North went missing over the weekend from her family home in Harvey. Investigators did not initially activate an Amber Alert, because they did not have sufficient evidence to confirm a kidnapping had occurred.

On Monday, July 15, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office issued information regarding a “person of interest.” They identified Matthew Flugence, 20, who is a relative of the missing child. They noted that Flugence has a recent arrest for sexual battery against an 11-year-old girl.

Officials have not provided an update regarding the status of Flugence.

NBC33 News will provide an update on this case after the press conference.

A real justified reason to protest wasted due to the GZ trial that takes a front row seat to a childs death, by misguided fools when a real 6 year old INNOCENT child has been murdered without any reguard for her life, and a set of parents that will never see their innocent child again except at a funeral home.
