Benton man locked up for growing marijuana in his back yard

A 21-year-old is locked up in the Bossier Maximum Security Facility for allegedly growing 20 marijuana plants in his back yard.

William H. Lockhart of Benton was arrested on Tuesday, April 10 after narcotics agents discovered the illegal grow operation.

Along with the marijuana plants in his back yard, drug paraphernalia and marijuana was found inside of his home.

Agents had conducted a more than a week long surveillance investigation on Lockhart.

Lockhart is charged with Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Marijuana.
His bond was set at $21,500.
