BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A man was arrested for allegedly taking out a pistol and pointing it at another driver while driving on I-12 in Baton Rouge.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, an on-duty State Trooper was traveling home in a fully marked State Police unit. He saw a vehicle driving erratically on Essen Ln. near I-12 and made a traffic stop on the eastbound entrance ramp.
While speaking to the driver of the vehicle, which he had just pulled over, the Trooper was approached by another driver. The second driver said that a man in a Toyota Solara had just pointed a gun at him near where the Trooper was located.
The Trooper immediately ceased his traffic stop and attempted to locate the suspect vehicle. He stopped the car in question as it exited I-12 at Airline Hwy.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driver of the Solara, Mark D. Rogillio, 25, had in fact pointed a 9 mm pistol at the complainant because “he was late for work” and “did not want the complainant getting in front of him.”
The Trooper also found an UZI .22 cal pistol in Rogillio’s vehicle.
Rogillio was placed under arrest by the Trooper and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Aggravated Assault.
Ironically, Rogillio was arrested by the same Trooper in July of 2012 for DWI and Speeding in Baton Rouge.
