BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge man was arrested for his fourth DWI after a concerned citizen called police and reported a vehicle with a missing tire traveling down the road.
According to the arrest report, the citizen called police at roughly 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. The caller was behind the vehicle on College Drive and continued to follow the driver to Jefferson Hwy.
The officer located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The officer claims the driver of the vehicle, Britt Sibley, 25, of Baton Rouge, was highly intoxicated.
“[He] admitted to consuming on 24 oz Bud Light beer prior to driving,” the report noted. “[He] then performed very poor on field sobriety tests.”
Sibley agreed to a breathalyzer test, which showed he was not over the legal limit. He blew a .043 percent. However, the officer still believed Sibley to be under the influence and asked him to submit to a drug screen, to which he refused.
Sibley was arrested and charged with DWI (4th offense) and Reckless Operation of a Vehicle. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. His bond was set at $32,800.
Sibley’s prior DWI arrests were issued in November 2006, August 2008, and May 2011.
