A 68-year-old man from Baton Rouge was arrested after he allegedly raped his 20-year-old granddaughter.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 7. The victim claims her grandfather grabbed her by the throat, ripped her clothes off and raped her.

At one point during the alleged attack the victim lost consciousness and blacked out. She says he stopped the physical penetration after she began vomiting. She then threatened to call police, so he agreed to return her to her home if she didn’t call police.

The next day police were called to the local hospital where she went for treatment. She told officers what happened and they issued a warrant for the suspect’s arrest.

The man was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He is charged with Aggravated Rape. His bond was set at $150,000.
