BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A Baton Rouge man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly attempted to rape his estranged wife.
The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the call on Monday, June 10 shortly after 11:00 a.m. According to the arrest report, the accused and his wife are still married, but have been separated since December 2012.
The victim told the officer she met with her ex and he took her in his company vehicle to an apartment complex. He allegedly picked her up and carried her inside. Once inside, he said “I just need your love” and began ripping her clothes off.
The victim allegedly told him to stop, and which point she says he refused. However, he eventually backed away and said “What am I doing,” apologized and left.
The man returned to the scene when the officer arrived. He claims the entire encounter was arranged and the two had an agreement for intercourse. He did admit she changed her mind and told him to stop, to which he says he complied.
The officer noted that the victim had a small scrape on her left ankle and another on her left shin. The victim’s clothes were ripped near the zipper of her jeans and in the top button area of her shirt.
The victim decided to press charges against her husband. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of Attempted Forcible Rape.
NBC33 News chose not to disclose the name of the suspect to protect the identity of the victim in this case.
