Bathtub bandit arrested after selling stolen items at scrap yard

HOUMA, LA (NBC33) — A 63-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a bathtub and pieces of galvanized pipe from a trailer park.
The Houma Police Department reports that the incident occurred on April 4, 2013 shortly before 6:00 p.m. Witnesses called police after they saw two men removing the items from a trailer located within the 200 block of Howard Avenue.
Investigators were able to identify Freddie Lee Hart as one of the suspects. He allegedly sold the stolen items to Southern Scrap.
Hart was located on April 16 and was arrested without incident. He was charged with Theft under $500. Additionally he had outstanding warrants through the Houma City Court for Contempt of Court and another warrant for Parole Violation and Failure to Appear. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Jail.
Investigators are currently looking for the second individual involved in the theft. The only description available is that he is a white male.
