Baton Rouge Detectives say one man is in jail and another in the hospital after a home invasion Saturday night.

They say it happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Arialo Street.

When they got to the house, police found that one of the victims fought with one of the suspects over a gun.

The gun discharged, hitting the second suspect. Both suspects attempted to flee the scene to Baker, where they actually called the police.

Officers found they were the ones from the earlier incident.

Chauncy Carter, 32, is in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Armed Robbery, and Attempted First-Degree Murder.

The other suspect is at Baton Rouge General and is expected to recover in critical condition.
