Detectives are currently searching for a man believed to have been shot in the head during a robbery. So far they have been unable to locate the victim.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that a robbery victim called 911 and said that the suspects shot and killed his friend. The abandoned house where it happened was set on fire, but no body was recovered.

Officials say the two victims were driving along Hwy 998 in Belle Rose when two black males stepped in front of their vehicle. The victim said the men had guns. The suspects allegedly forced the two men out of the vehicle and took them to a nearby abandoned home. The victim says one of the suspects fired shots when a physical altercation began.

We’re told one of the victims, Tony Rodriguez, Jr., 23, was struck and fell to the ground. The second victim was able to escape and run to a nearby business for help. The home where the alleged homicide occurred was set on fire and received extensive damage.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene of the burned out home to search for the missing victim. However, after an extensive search they were unable to locate a body.

Officials are currently looking for information regarding the whereabouts of Rodriquez. He’s described as 5’8” tall, 190 lbs.
