Attempted murder suspect turns himself in to Assumption authorities

NAPOLEONVILLE, LA — UPDATE: Suspect Daron Holloway turned himself in to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office around 7:30 p.m. on July 2. He is being charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
ORIGINAL: The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect wanted in a Napoleonville shooting.
During the afternoon hours of July 1, deputies Monday were called to a shooting in the 4500 block of Hwy 308 in Napoleonville. they found Skilar Rhodes, age 21, on the ground suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.
Investigators determined that earlier that day, Daron Holloway, 21, came to Rhodes’s residence and the two were involved in an altercation. Holloway responded by retrieving a small handgun pointing it at Rhodes. As Rhodes fled, Holloway fired a single shot striking him in the back. Holloway then fled in a faded black Ford Escort.
Rhodes was transported to Prevost Hospital by Acadian Ambulance Service and immediately airlifted to a Baton Rouge area hospital. Rhodes is listed in guarded condition.
Deputies attempted to locate Holloway at his residence on Belle Point Lane in Napoleonville but believe he may have fled to the Gonzales area.
An arrest warrant will be issued for Holloway for Attempted Second-Degree Murder.
