Arsonist blamed for early morning fire
BAKER, LA (NBC33) — An arsonist is blamed for a fire that caused $50,000 in damage to a house in Baker. It happened around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15.
The Baker Fire Department was called out to a house on North Magnolia Road. When they arrived, the front of the home was engulfed in flames. Fortunantely, no one was home at the time the fire started. The family is reported to be on a cruise vacation.
An investigation revealed that the cause of the fire was due to arson and that the fire was started maliciously. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to do a further investigation.
