Arson fire causes $80K in damage to home on Mission Street
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Baton Rouge fire officials are currently investigating an arson fire that caused $80,000 in damage to a vacant home.
The fire started shortly after 5:00 a.m. on August 24, 2014, in the 3200 block of Mission Street.
Curt Monte, a fire department spokesperson, says flames were “shooting through the roof” of the home when firefighters arrived, and it took them 30 minutes to get the fire under control.
Investigators say the cause of the fire was arson and discovered the multiple spots where a fire was started.
