UPDATE: Steaphon Harris was arrested after a tip was provided to the Crime Stoppers hotline. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

ORIGINAL: A suspect has been identified in connection to a shooting that hospitalized one man with life-threatening injuries. Police need the public’s help to locate him.

The Baton Rouge Police Department has obtained a warrant for the arrest of Steaphon Harris, 28, of Baton Rouge. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Harris is accused of walking up to a man at roughly 2:00 a.m. in the courtyard of the Centurion Arms Apartments. He allegedly shot the man for unknown reasons.

Once he is taken into custody, he will be charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Harris is described as 5’9” and 135 lbs. His last known address is on Harco Street.
