Arrest for murder on Gracie Street

This is an NBC33 News update: Baton Rouge Police Homicide Detectives arrested Mark Young, 35, and charged him with First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder, and Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon.

Investigators say Young shot and killed Derrick Casey, 27, and shot and injured Kenneth Cobbs, 27, during a drug deal gone wrong. Tips from Crime Stoppers lead to the arrest of Young.

Young was also charged with two counts of Possession of a Stolen Firearm on an unrelated case.
 

BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) – A 28-year old man was murdered last night on Gracie Street near mid city Baton Rouge.

Derrick Casey was shot and killed just after 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13. He was found inside a house on Gracie Street, which was not his residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
