Armed robber gets away with cash from La Quinta in Walker

A lone gunman held up the La Quinta Inn motel at I-12 and Walker South Road in Walker, just after 3:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9. He managed to escape with an unknown amount of cash.

“A black male subject entered the La Quinta Inn early this morning, armed with a handgun, and demanded money from the clerk,” Chief Hunter Grimes, Walker Police Chief, said. “The clerk complied with the subject’s demands and after taking the money, the subject fled on foot.”

The La Quinta Inn clerk was alone in the lobby when the gunman entered.

“As soon as the gunman left the scene, the clerk called 9-1-1 to report the robbery,” Chief Grimes, added. “Our units arrived quickly and searched the area, but the suspect could not be located.”

Walker Police are looking for a black male with a dark complexion, in his mid to late 20’s, approximately 5’8” tall, weighing between 160-180 pounds.

“The suspect has short, dark hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, dark jeans and a black jacket.”
