Ascension Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested 45-year-old Earl Cosey after he killed his wife's cousin, 39-year-old Sheddrick Diggs. The Coseys were reportedly having an argument at their house in the Jamestown subdivision of Prairieville when Diggs tried to intervene and calm them down. Cosey shot Diggs in the house's driveway, killing him.

Officers say Cosey drove eastward to escape the scene, but they caught up with him as soon as he entered East Baton Rouge Parish. He gave himself up, and was booked into the Ascension Parish jail for second-degree murder.

We sent a crew to the scene, and will update this story with new information tonight on NBC33 News at Ten.
