APSO arrests 4 for attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit battery

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested four men allegedly involved in an attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit simple battery.

On Sunday, March 16, deputies responded to the 12000 Highway 73 in Geismar for a possible robbery in progress around 8:30 p.m.

When police arrived on scene, the met with Tate Adkins, who told them he was riding with Damon Dalferes, Shane Borer, and Kenneth Cox.

According to police reports, Adkins confessed to officers that he agreed to pay Cox $300 to beat up someone who had been harassing him.

The other three suspects reportedly drove Adkins to an ATM machine in Dutchtown for the cash, but the card transaction failed twice. As a result, Adkins was unable to follow up on his side of the deal.

Cox then pulled out a shotgun and demanded that Adkins give him everything he had.

Cox then got out of the vehicle in the area of Highway 73 and 74 and ran on foot without any money.

Deputies later found Dalferes and Borer at a local business near Highway 73 and 74. After searching the suspect’s vehicle, police found a 12-gauge shotgun.

Damon Dalferes, 22, was arrested and charged with principal to attempted first-degree robbery, and criminal conspiracy.
