Amite woman leads deputies on chase, hides variety of drugs in car

Independence, La (NBC33) — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 29-year-old Le’Chelle M. Allen of Amite after she led deputies on a high-speed chase.
On Wednesday at about 8:20 p.m., Allen sped away from a policeman who tried to stop her vehicle on Highway 51 in Independence.
As the deputy pursued her, he saw her reaching in the middle of her car several time, as though trying to hide something.
When Allen reached Amite, six fully marked police cars were waiting for her. She drove on the shoulder of the road to avoid them and continued to flee.
The chase continued until Allen arrived at her home and parked her car in the driveway.
When she got out of her car, Allen violently resisted the police. She was finally taken into custody.
After searching Allen’s vehicle, investigators found a prescription pill bottle with a damaged label containing 71 pills, a clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a Hello Kitty pill believed to be Ecstasy and a Autobot Transformer pill also believed to be Ecstasy.
Allen was charged with the following offenses:
- Two Headlights Required
- Aggravated Flight
- Resisting by Force or Violence, three counts
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Possession of Legend Drug, three counts
- Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, two counts
- Possession of Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, two counts
