An early morning car accident turned into a crime scene when the driver of the vehicle ran from Police and attempted to kick the windows out of the officer’s vehicle once he was apprehended.

The Baton Rouge Police responded to the scene of the accident on Perkins Road. It happened at 4:45 a.m. We’re told the driver, Clifton Bazley, 36, of Vacherie lost control of his SUV and flipped it. The vehicle came to a stop at a car wash located on the 4800 block.

Responding officers say Bazley ran from Police when they arrived, but they caught up with him a short distance away.

Once arrested Bazley reportedly began kicking at the windows of the Police vehicle, and allegedly attempted to kick an officer in the head. They say he also repeatedly banged his head into the car windows and then did so as well in the holding area.

Bazley was taken for treatment at Earl K. Long hospital and was then booked into Parish Prison.

Basley is charged with DWI, Reckless Operation, Attempted Criminal Damage to Property, Hit and Run, No Insurance, Resisting by Force or Violence.
