AL fugitive's luck runs out in New Iberia
NEW IBERIA, LA (NBC33) — A fugitive from Alabama has been captured in New Iberia.
Joshua Folks (35) escaped from a mental health facility in Clark County, Alabama. Officials say Folks left Alabama by stowing away on a freight train that was headed west.
Investigators were tipped off, when Folks crossed the Mississippi/Louisiana state line. Iberia Parish Sheriff’s deputies, working for the U.S. Marshal's Office, tracked Folks to a home in the 3000 block of E. Admiral Doyle in New Iberia.
Deputies arrested Folks on January 7, and booked him into the Iberia Parish Jail. Extradition for Folks is currently pending.
