Iberville Parish, La (NBC33) — Iberville Parish Law enforcement had a successful run of an undercover drug operation early this morning called Operation Prescribed Justice, which targeted 60 people suspected of selling and using prescription and illegal drugs.
Officer and deputies gathered for an early morning briefing, all ready to hit the road and roundup some suspected drug dealers.
Glennis Piper was the first on the list.
“I don’t even know what's going on," he said as he was being placed under arrest for distribution of illegal narcotics.
Another person at Piper’s residence, Robin Boudreaux, was not on the list. However, she had a bench warrant and numerous drug charges; she was also arrested.
Tia Loubiere, only in her early twenties, will be facing jail time for the distribution of cocaine.
Carl Babtist, who is known to run from the law, was hiding in a bathroom. He’s been arrested on numerous burglary charges and failed to show up in court.
“We did a real good job this morning,” said Plaquemine Police Chief Orian Gulotta. “We picked up over half of our people. Of course, we can continue to look for the rest.”
They successfully made 32 arrests this morning and will continue to look for the remanding offenders on their list.
