4 marijuana plants growing in front yard, 4 Prairieville arrests

Ascension Parish arrested four people after an investigation into illegal drug activity in the 39000 block of Country Drive in Prairieville.

People sent several complaints to police about illegal narcotics activity. As part of their investigation, undercover officers bought marijuana from that location on Monday, March 17.

Investigators later did a search of the home. They found four people inside the residence and about two pounds of marijuana, a sawed off shotgun, a handgun, drug paraphernalia, and four marijuana plants growing in the front yard.

Police arrested the following people in connection with the illegal drug activity:

Michelle Yarbrough, 40, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts illegal carrying of weapons, cultivation of marijuana, and possession of an unregistered firearm.

Julie Yarbrough, 59, was charged with six counts of failure to appear in court.

Dakota Sutton, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
