Mark Massoletti, 52, and his girlfriend were sleeping in their bedroom when Powers allegedly went in and attacked Massoletti.

The girlfriend woke up and ran to get help from the victim’s son Michael Massoletti, 23, who was sleeping in another room with his wife.

Michael’s wife escaped the house and ran to a neighbor’s to call 911.

The victim’s girlfriend and son struggled with the suspect.

Powers reportedly killed Mark and Michael Massoletti, and then took his own life with a small caliber rifle.

The two women who were home were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Both victims appear to have suffered from multiple cuts, but the actual cause of death has yet to be determined.
