27-year-old man recovering from gun shot wound to the head; BRPD searching for witnesses

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 27-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the head. Police say they are searching for a witness who will step forward with information.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 900 block of Terrace Street on Wednesday, Sept. 18. When they arrived at roughly 5:40 p.m., they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the forehead.
“He was transported to the hospital with a very serious, but non-life threatening injury,” Cpl. Don Coppola, Baton Rouge Police Department, said. “He told investigators that he was walking in the area when an unknown man fired a gun and he was struck by the bullet.”
Police have been unable to locate any additional witnesses, so they have little understanding of what happened.
