Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating a shooting that wounded two people early Tuesday morning in Lynch’s Trailer Park on Highway 929 in Prairieville.

Police say Monique Delmore, 30, suffered a gunshot wound to her side. Edgar Westbrook, 41, suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.

Emergency responders took both victims to a local hospital, and they are listed in stable condition.

Investigators say the suspect Jiterrance Brown, 25, was previously in a relationship with the female victim, Delmore. Both Brown and Delmore live in the same trailer park.

At the time of the shooting, the two victims were walking outside of Delmore’s residence. Brown allegedly appeared at the home and opened fire on the two victims.

Officers took Brown into custody shortly after and brought him in for questioning.

Brown was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and taken to the Ascension Parish Jail.

Police are still investigating and more charges are possible.
