2 men charged in shooting of a local woman
BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives responded to a shooting at 4:42 a.m. in which a woman was shot. The woman was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
According to reports, four men, allegedly local bounty hunters, were at the residence as part of an alleged fugitive recovery. Two of the men were at the front of the residence and two were at the back. The two men in the back of the residence opened a cracked window in order to gain entry and pointed a weapon inside. When the woman came to the window, one of the men fired a shot striking her.
The man that allegedly opened the window, Anthony Thomas, 24, will be charged with Home Invasion. The alleged shooter, Demarcus J. McKnight, 31, will be charged with Illegal Use of a Weapon and Principal to Home Invasion. Both will be booked into parish prison. This incident is still under investigation.
