Ascension Parish deputies responded to a fight on Firday evening, March 28, in the 16000 block of Joe Sevario Road.

When they arrived on scene, officers found a severely beaten woman lying on the sidewalk.

The victim was taken to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

Investigators learned that Asleigh Parker, 21, of Prairieville, and the victim had an argument that got physical.

Parker called her boyfriend, Manly Gilley, 29, of Prairieville, to help her fight. Gilley arrived at the residence, and the two of them began beating and kicking the victim while she was unconscious on the ground.

As the investigation continued, deputies arrested Gilley and Parker.

Gilley was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder on March 28. He is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail where he is being held without bond.
