19-year-old injures two after shooting in gas station parking lot; turns himself in
PLAQUEMINE, LA (NBC33) — A 19-year-old turned himself in to police for allegedly injuring two people after he fired a gun several times at a crowd of people.
The Plaquemine Police Department reports that the incident happened on Sunday, May 19 at roughly 1:30 a.m. It all started when the suspect, Shannon Dale Holmes, Jr., allegedly fired a gun at the Circle K store in Plaquemine.
Officials say there was a crowd of roughly 20 people gathered in the parking lot at the time of the shooting. Two people were injured and several vehicles were damaged.
Holmes turned himself in for the crime the following day at roughly 5:00 a.m. He was charged with two counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon or Dangerous Instrument, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and three counts of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property.
