THIBODAUX, LA (NBC33) — A 19-year-old man is being held on a $5 million bond for his connection to a double homicide.
“These double homicides are the first murders within the city of Thibodaux in over a year,” David Melancon, Thibodaux Police Department, noted.
Officers arrested Alfred Starks for two counts of Second-Degree Murder. The shooting happened on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at roughly 10:00 p.m.
“We responded to calls of gunshots in the area of the 100 block of Iris Street,” David Melancon, Thibodaux Police Department, said. “When police arrived, they found a vehicle with two males inside of it with multiple gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.”
The victims are Tre Scott, 19, and Jordy Williams, 26, both of Thibodaux. Investigators were able to quickly identify Starks as a suspect.
“They processed the scene and they were led to Starks, who is known to frequent the area,” Melancon noted. “Starks is currently being investigated for an aggravated assault that happened earlier this week.”
Starks is currently being held in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
