LAKE CHARLES, LA (NBC33) — An accused killer is locked up today after he wrecked his vehicle into a parked car while attempting to evade law enforcement.
The Lake Charles Police Department reports that the suspect, Armonta Dquon Hadnot, 18, was spotted by a Sheiff’s Deputy in Lake Charles. Knowing that the vehicle was listed in a nationwide data base, the deputy attempted a traffic stop. However, Hadnot allegedly tried to outrun him.
Officials say Hadnot wrecked his vehicle into a parked car and then fled the scene on foot. Lake Charles Police notified the public by what’s called a 911 ring down which calls homes with-in a certain area. The message was brief but described what was happening in their neighborhood and to be alert and contact police if needed.
A K-9 unit was able to locate Hadnot, who eventually surrendered without further incident.
Hadnot is accused of murdering three people on Wednesday, March 20. He was also wanted for a separate shooting incident and outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Hadnot was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center for 3 counts of First-Degree Murder, 3 counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder, 6 counts of Armed Robbery, and 6 counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm.
Hadnot was denied bond for the murder charges due to being a flight risk. However, bond was set for his remaining charges at $1,350,000.
