17-year-old girl arrested for Obstruction of Justice in murder case

A 17-year-old girl was arrested by the Baker Police Department for Obstruction of Justice involving a homicide investigation. Tonight she’s booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Officials say Kaitlan Alyssa Brandon of Baton Rouge was originally questioned in July 2011 in regards to the death of Abelardo Pampo. The victim was discovered on July 28, 2011 in a little league baseball park. Detectives say that when Brandon was questioned, there were inconsistencies in her story.

Since then the Police Department discovered that Brandon had contact with the victim in the final moments leading up to Pampo’s death.

Brandon was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Officials say that further arrests in this case are anticipated.
