A 14-year-old boy who was hit by a car while riding his bike died yesterday as a result of his injuries. The driver who hit him was arrested for DWI and could now face additional charges.

The Louisiana State Police reports that the crash happened on Friday, Nov. 2 on Country Estates Drive in Terrebonne Parish. We’re told Logan Bergeron, 14, of Gray, was riding his bike at roughly 6:00 p.m. in the westbound lane. At the same time a 1998 Dodge Ram being driving by Stephen Pellegrin, 28, of Houma, was traveling in the eastbound lane. We’re told the teen entered the eastbound lane and crossed paths with the truck. He was struck and was taken to a local hospital.

Logan Bergeron fought for his life for several days. He passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The driver was issued a field sobriety and breath test at the scene of crash. Results showed that he was above the legal limit. He was arrested and charged with DWI. Officials say further charges are pending and the crash is under investigation.

Its a good thing the blue laws were taken away so the drunks can get smashed one more day now. I guess six days a week were just not enough to kill kids on bikes by drunken fools.
