1 in custody after fleeing scene of fatal crash in Plaquemines Parish
PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA (NBC33) — One man is in custody after fleeing the scene of a fatal car crash in Plaquemines Parish.
According to a report from the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office, PPSO and Louisiana State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in the 30500 block of Highway 23 in Nairn, LA.
One driver was critically injured and later died from his injuries.
The driver who allegedly caused the accident fled the scene on foot. Police caught him five hours later in a wooded area in Port Sulphur.
Authorities are not releasing any further information as they continue to investigate the incident.
