NEW ORLEANS, La (WVLA) – While you were shopping, two women in New Orleans were attempting to get away with a free deal.

Members of the Sixth District’s Magazine Street Patrol were called to Ele’s Shoe Store on Magazine Street after a clerk saw two suspects stuffing items into a purse. When officers arrived and searched the purse, they found an anti-alarm devise.

The device is a pouch made out of aluminum foil and duct tape. When the would-be crooks walk out of the store, the pouch prevents the alarms from sounding.

Ashley Connelly, 22, and Dion Magee, 24, were arrested.
