UPDATED: Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - 1:12pm

A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued to customers between Tickfaw and Independence that receive service from French Settlement Water Company by the Blackcat water supply in Tangipahoa Parish.

Due to the freeze, this advisory is being issued because of excessive use throughout the area which has caused pressure to drop to a level below minimum standards per Louisiana Dept. of Health.

We encourage all customers to check their personal lines for any leaks and either repair them immediately or turn their valve off. This is imperative in order to restore pressure to all of our customers.

This advisory will remain in effect until further notice, but we hope to have it lifted by this coming Monday. If you notice any leaks or have any questions , please call our office at 1-800-375-7570.
