Officials in Genesee County, New York have released surveillance video showing an assault on a Walmart greeter that took place on Christmas Eve.

Jacquetta Simmons, 26, who is accused of hitting the greeter, is currently on trial on charges of elder assault.

The video shows the greeter being punched and landing on the ground.

Simmons claims the punch was actually an inadvertent motion of her arm.

Another camera view shows Simmons allegedly trying to flee the area with another person, but being quickly surrounded by employees and patrons of the store.

Simmons is one of the first people charged under the state's "Granny Law" that calls for harsher penalties against people convicted of assault against victims who are 65 years of age or older.

In her last court appearance, Simmons was able to get the initial charge of "intent to cause serious physical injury" reduced.

Simmons' attorneys are still fighting the elder law charges, too, claiming the law is unconstitutional.

The jury trial is expected to wrap up soon.
