Nearly all of the customers who come through D's One Stop convenience store on Highway 80 in Brandon, Mississippi shop at the store regularly.

On Tuesday July 3, however, a clerk said she rang up a customer she'd never seen before. That customer was Roy Mitchell.

In surveillance video, Mitchell is shown picking up some chips. He acts like he's paying and that's when things turn for the worse at the register.

The clerk said she was completely caught off guard when Mitchell pointed the gun at her.

Mitchell's mom, who was also in the store walked to the register right on time, snatched the gun from her son and ordered Mitchell to walk out.

Numerous cameras surround the inside and the outside of D's One Stop, but obviously Mitchell wasn't paying close attention when he attempted to rob the place.

Once Mitchell's mom grabbed what turned out to be a toy gun from her son, they began arguing, and that's when the clerk went out the side door to call 911.
