NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Florida deputies have arrested a mother accused of starting a fight at a Flagler County school bus stop.
Police said Felecia Phillips, 35, of Bunnell, went to the bus stop at about 7 a.m. Wednesday where she confronted a 17-year-old about a fight the previous day between her 15-year-old son and another teen.
Witnesses said Phillips argued with the Flagler Palm Coast High School student and pushed him in the face.
The teen then slammed Phillips into the ground.
According to deputies, Phillips followed the teen on the bus, and video surveillance shows the two fighting again on the bus.
Witnesses said Phillips walked off the bus when the bus driver told her she was trespassing.
She was arrested three hours later.
Phillips said she doesn't regret the fight.
"I just want him to leave my son alone. I was protecting him. He's 15 years old, and he's not a fighter," Phillips said.
Phillips was charged with child abuse and trespassing on school property. Bond was set at $2,500.
