NBC NATIONAL NEWS — People were seeing red in one Colombian town.
For more than two hours on Sunday, locals in a town northeast of Bogota held its traditional Tomatina, a tomato-throwing festival.
20,000 people threw 15 tons of ripe tomatoes at each other.
The event celebrates the work of local farmers in the area, one of the largest tomato-producing towns in the nation.
All the tomatoes used are rejects and not able to be sold on the open market.
The festival is inspired by the famous event in the Spanish town of Bunol.
