Burglar leaves pants on the scene
HAMMOND, La (TPSO)--Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edward reports that the sheriff’s office is investigating a business burglary which occurred on South Airport Road in the evening hours of October 27, 2010.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 pm. Deputies responded an alarm notification from the Airport Rd. business address. Upon arrival, deputies encountered the perpetrator on the property. The suspect quickly fled the location in a silver Impala. At this time, the suspect then led deputies in a vehicle pursuit to Sweet Water Camp Grounds. The suspect then crashed his vehicle near the Camp Ground and fled in a wooded area on foot.
Deputies and TPSO K9’s searched the area for several hours to no avail. During the search, deputies discovered that the suspect ran completely out of his pants leaving behind his wallet and personal items. The driver’s license and vehicle registration both identify the subject to be Leonard R. Jackson of Hwy 1042 in Greensburg.
During the investigation, deputies discovered materials in the suspect vehicle which were identified as stolen property from the S. Airport Rd. business. These items have been recovered and returned to the local businessman.
