WALKER, La (NBC33)--A burglar is busted in Walker after the homeowner catches him in the act.

It happened on LA-16 just before Noon.  The homeowner got the license plate of Jorge Hernandez before he drove off.  Deputies caught up with Hernandez but not before he tried to run off.

They arrested him a short time later.  Detectives found stolen laptops and a pistol inside the 22 year old's car.

Deputies are investigating whether or not hernandez is a legal citizen.
