BR gas prices drop, as crisis Iraq in continues
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The crisis in Iraq doesn't seem to be affecting gas prices here at home.
In fact the average price for a gallon of gas in Baton Rouge has fallen seven cents since last week.
Analysts say the drop is due in part to lack of demand.
Now that the kids are back in school, many people are hitting the roads less.
And there's more good news, we're told oil companies will soon switch back to the winter mix gas, which is even cheaper, and could mean even lower prices for you at the pump by mid-September.
According to Triple A, the average price of gas in Baton Rouge is $3.23.
Statewide it's $3.24, that's well below the national average, which sits now at $3.45.
